Assessing the impacts of new development on the character and visual quality of landscapes is an important part of the role of landscape architects. In or near designated areas, this is especially important, as such landscapes are considered to have a high value for their aesthetic, cultural or ecological characteristics.  

 

Landscape and Visual Appraisal for a proposed development is a professionally produced document, reflecting reports typically undertaken by landscape architects in professional practice. This exercise is given by the guest lecturers to help me understand the process of the appraisal. With the application of GIS, I had produced a series of mappings that build a comprehensive knowledge base for further design of my atelier work.

評估新開發項目對景觀特徵和視覺質量的影響是景觀設計師重要的組成部分。在受法列保護的區域內和其周遭環境，視覺景觀評估尤為重要，因為這些景觀都被認定具有很重要的美學，文化或生態特徵。

 

在專業實踐中, 對於擬定開發項目, 視覺景觀評估是景觀設計師必須的一份文檔。因此，客席講師給予此練習以幫助我理解整個評估過程。隨著應用GIS，我製作了一系列的地圖，而這些地圖有助建構全面的了解, 以進一步為接下來設計工作打下基礎。
