As one of the world's most densely populated cities, Hong Kong is now facing a congested street environment which limits the scope for long-term development. In June 2015, the Government commissioned the “Pilot Study on Underground Space Development in Selected Strategic Urban Areas” covering 4 selected Strategic Urban Areas. Meanwhile, the RTHK program 'Underground Order' cooperated with us to examine the feasibility of developing underground space at Kowloon Park.

The design concept of 'Roots' proposes different linkages under the Kowloon Park like roots running through the soil to obtain nutrients and water for growth. It suggests an underground Kowloon Park DR for the growth of green linkage. The ideas of Cultural linkage and commercial linkage also helps establish a more cohesive social connection between the Tsim Sha Tsui West and the Tsim Sha Tsui East.

作為世界上其中一個人口最稠密的城市，香港許多市區現在都面臨著街道環境過份擁擠的問題，這限制了市區長遠的發展。 在2015年6月，政府開展了「城市地下空間發展：策略性地區先導研究」，涵蓋了四個策略性地區。同時，香港電台節目“地下秩序”與我們合作，研究了在九龍公園開發地下空間的可行性。

「根」的理念是希望在九龍公園下形成不同形式的連結，就好比樹根向地下四周伸展獲取營養和水分以供生長。 它提出了將現有的九龍公園徑放到地下以連結地面的綠化發展，而在地下發展文化以及商業的連結也有助建立尖沙咀西與尖沙咀東之間的更緊密的社區聯繫。
